GirliePop FAQ

Sweet things, cute things, happy moments—here’s everything you’ve asked us about jewelry care, homemade vanilla, and shelf-stable cake pops.

Polymer Clay Care

✨ Are my GirliePop earrings delicate?

They’re lightweight and durable, but not indestructible. Avoid bending, squishing, or dropping them to keep them looking fabulous.

✨ Can I wear them all the time?

We love the dedication, but give them a break. Remove before showering, swimming, working out, or sleeping.

✨ Are they waterproof?

They can handle minor splashes, but water isn’t their bestie. Prolonged exposure can damage metal findings and adhesives.

✨ How should I store my pieces?

Store in a jewelry box or pouch in a cool, dry place. Keep pieces separated to avoid rubbing or scuffing.

✨ How do I clean them?

Gently wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners, alcohol, acetone, or abrasive materials.

✨ Can heat damage polymer clay?

Yes. Avoid leaving your jewelry in hot cars or direct sunlight for extended periods, as heat can cause warping.

✨ Are the metal parts sensitive-ear friendly?

Most findings are hypoallergenic but not medical-grade. For sensitive ears, stainless steel or titanium options are recommended when available.

✨ What if something breaks?

Stop wearing it immediately and reach out. Many minor issues can be repaired, and we’re happy to help.

Homemade Vanilla & Shelf-Stable Cake Pops

🍦 What is homemade vanilla extract?

It’s a simple infusion of split vanilla beans in alcohol (usually vodka) that creates a rich, natural flavor. No artificial additives—and it gets better with time!

🍦 How do you make homemade vanilla extract?

Split vanilla beans, place them in a jar, cover with vodka, seal, and store in a cool, dark place for 6–8 weeks. Shake occasionally. The longer it sits, the stronger the flavor!

🍦 How long does homemade vanilla last?

Indefinitely! Alcohol preserves it. Top off with more vodka as you use it and add fresh beans to keep it strong.

🍭 What makes cake pops shelf-stable?

Fully baked cake, a binder like frosting, and a candy coating that seals in freshness. This combo keeps pops safe at room temp for several days.

🍭 How long do cake pops stay fresh?

Room temp: 5–7 days in an airtight container.
Fridge: ~2 weeks.
Freezer: Up to 3 months (wrap individually).

🍭 Do they need refrigeration?

Not right away! If coated and stored in a cool, dry place, they’re fine for several days. Refrigerate for longer freshness.

🍭 Can I customize flavors?

Absolutely! Use homemade vanilla for a rich base, then add seasonal spices, citrus zest, or fun coatings for extra flair.

🍭 Are GirliePop cake pops safe for shipping?

Yes! We use sturdy coatings and packaging to keep them fresh and cute until they arrive.
